The Silk Road was a 4,ooo mile long network of small trade routes that allowed people to trade with differant countries. The Silk Road linked people from the south and the west for thousands of years. Both goods and ideas traveled on the road. The Chinese used the route to trade silk and jade for spices from India and glassware from Rome.
